Privacy Policy

VidGen is operated independently from Pakistan. For privacy enquiries you can reach us at privacy@vidgen.pk or via WhatsApp at +92 304 7036143. For these purposes VidGen is the controller of personal data we collect from you.

We collect and process the following categories of data:

• Account data — your name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash), profile photo (optional), workspace name, and similar registration details.
• Billing data — your billing address, the last four digits of payment cards, the identifier returned by our payment processor, plan and credit-package selections, invoices, and payment status. Full payment-card numbers are processed by our payment partners and never stored on VidGen servers.
• Inputs you submit — text scripts, prompts, photographs (used to create AI avatars), voice samples (used for voice cloning), images (used for image-to-video), reference videos, and any associated metadata.
• Generated Outputs — the AI video, AI avatar video, AI voiceover, and other media files we produce on your instruction, plus their metadata (duration, resolution, language, scene count, render settings).
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, render counts, credit consumption, error logs, device type, browser type, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, language preference, and timestamps.
• Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy.
• Communications — content of any messages you send to support, sales or legal teams, including via WhatsApp.

To provide AI avatar video and voice cloning features we necessarily process photographs of human faces and short voice samples that you upload. In some jurisdictions this constitutes biometric or “special-category” data and is subject to additional legal protection.

You confirm that, before uploading any face or voice, you have obtained the freely-given, specific, informed and unambiguous written consent of the individual depicted (or you are that individual yourself), permitting the use of their likeness or voice with VidGen for the purpose of generating synthetic media. You bear sole legal responsibility for that consent.

We process face and voice data solely to operate the requested feature on your behalf. We do not sell biometric data, we do not use it to identify individuals across other services, and we do not use it to train foundation models for other customers. You may request deletion of any uploaded face or voice sample at any time by contacting privacy@vidgen.pk.

We use personal data for the following purposes:

• To operate, maintain and provide the Service, including AI video generation, AI avatar video, voice cloning, text-to-speech, captioning, dubbing and account management.
• To process payments, deliver invoices, prevent payment fraud, and enforce our billing terms.
• To monitor for abuse, security threats, and violations of our Acceptable Use Policy, including detection of attempts at impersonation, deepfake creation, or other prohibited uses.
• To respond to your support enquiries and to communicate operational information about the Service.
• To send you product updates, transactional notifications, and (only with your separate opt-in) marketing communications. You may opt out of marketing at any time.
• To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, and exercise or defend legal claims.
• To improve the reliability, performance and quality of our Service, using aggregated and de-identified usage statistics.

We do not use your Inputs, Outputs, voice clones, or avatar uploads to train foundation models for other customers. We do not share your content with third-party AI providers for the purpose of model training. Where we use third-party infrastructure (for example, cloud hosting), data is processed under confidentiality and data-processing terms that prohibit secondary use.

Where applicable law (such as the GDPR) requires identification of a legal basis, we rely on:

• Performance of a contract — to provide the Service and process payments;
• Legitimate interests — to keep the Service safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve quality, where these interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights;
• Legal obligation — to comply with tax, anti-money-laundering, and similar requirements;
• Consent — for marketing communications, optional cookies, and the processing of biometric data, which you are responsible for obtaining from any third-party data subject before uploading their face or voice.

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with the following categories of recipient and only as necessary:

• Service providers — cloud hosting, content delivery, email delivery, payment processing, customer support tooling, analytics. They process data on our behalf under written contracts that restrict use to providing the relevant service.
• Professional advisors — legal, accounting and similar professionals where reasonably necessary.
• Authorities — where required by valid legal process or to protect rights, property, safety or security of VidGen, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

VidGen is operated from Pakistan, and we use cloud and processing infrastructure that may be located in other jurisdictions. By using the Service you understand that personal data may be transferred to, processed in, and stored in countries other than your own, including jurisdictions whose data-protection laws may differ from those of your country. We apply appropriate safeguards (such as contractual data-processing terms) to those transfers.

We keep account data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to allow account recovery, fraud prevention, and compliance with legal obligations. Generated media and uploaded Inputs may be retained while your subscription is active and may be deleted automatically after account closure or after a defined inactivity period. Billing records are retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically up to seven years).

You may request earlier deletion at any time by contacting privacy@vidgen.pk; we will action such requests subject to legal obligations that may require us to retain certain records.

We apply industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption of data in transit, access controls, authenticated access to storage, secrets management, logging and monitoring, and least-privilege engineering practices. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that personal data will never be subject to unauthorised access. You are responsible for protecting your own credentials and for promptly notifying us of any suspected compromise.

Subject to applicable law and to verification of your identity, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent); receive a portable copy of certain data; and lodge a complaint with the relevant data-protection authority. The Service is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from, individuals under 18 years of age. If you become aware that a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through reasonable means.
